Space Day
January 11, 2012

What is Florida Space Day?

Florida Space Day is a milestone event that presents an opportunity to educate and bring awareness to Florida legislators on the significance of the aerospace industry and its impact on Florida's economy.

Florida's aerospace workforce will become another lost asset unless we move quickly to retain this expertise. The aerospace industry represents billions of dollars in annual economic impact and employs thousands of residents in the state's 67 counties.

With the Space Shuttle retirement last year, it is imperative that government and industry work in partnership to create a cohesive and successful vision for Florida's role in space exploration.

On January 11, 2012, Florida’s space industry representatives will visit Tallahassee to participate in Florida Space Day. Private companies, local, state and federal agencies, and academic institutions will participate in this unique, annual event, meant to educate our state leaders on the challenges and opportunities Florida has during this dynamic time in the space program. To RSVP for the reception, contact Ladonna Neterer

Space Day Reception Registration is limited to sponsoring companies, elected officials and their staff only.
